Explore some of Hawke's Bay's most scenic locations with this Leisurely Pathways Self Guided Cycle Tour! Perfect for those who are looking to get off the beaten track, you will travel for three days, stopping in both beautiful Taradale and Havelock North for a nights stay in each. With accommodation and daily continental breakfast included, as well as the hire of bicycles and safety equipment, all you need to bring along is your camera, comfortable clothing suitable for riding in and an open mind! This tour has a difficulty rating of easy, meaning that you don't have to be a well trained athlete to enjoy all the fun of this unique experience either! For the perfect way to explore the impressive wineries Hawke's Bay is famous for, this is it! Best of all, if you have one too many drinks or perhaps purchase a few too many bottles of your favourite to carry on your bike, there is a service that will come to your rescue and transport you or your purchases!

Before your departure you'll be supplied with detailed daily riding instructions and map indicating the whereabouts of your accommodation, along with some of the best wineries and cycling tracks, however how you choose to break up the daily ride is up to you - spend as little or as much time as you like in each section along the track, this is the perk of a self guided tour! With two levels of accommodation possible, take your pick between the Motor Lodge option, or splurge a little and opt for the Boutique B&B accommodation. Whichever you choose, both provide a fantastic place to unwind and relax after a day full of sight seeing, in preparation for the rest of your journey.

Day 1 is a 35 kilometre journey beginning at Ahuriri and concludes at Taradale following the Estuary trail and Puketapu Loop. With its protected birdlife and low-lying wetlands, Ahuriri Estuary provides the perfect introduction to the beauty that is to come on your 3 day journey. Make a lunch time visit to the Mission Estate and Church Rd Wineries and you'll be ensured a peaceful afternoon ride along the banks of the Tutaekuri River on the Puketapu Loop towards your first nights accommodation. If choosing the Motor Lodge accommodation option you will stay at the Colonial Lodge. If choosing the Boutique B&B you will stay at Watea Boutique B&B.

Day 2 covers a 40 kilometre track and starts at Taradale and concludes at Havelock North travelling along the Wineries Ride via the River Trails and Oak Ave. With majority of the riding completed in the morning, riders will make their way through the beautiful orchard and farmland country along the Tutaekuri and Ngaruroro Rivers to the famous Ngatarawa Gimlet Gravels appellation. This leaves the afternoon mostly free for the more important things - that is wine obviously! With a number of Cellar Doors offering tastings and winery style food, your tastebuds are in for a treat! With a transfer included to your overnight accommodation at either Havelock North Motor Lodge or The Loft B&B dependent on what accommodation package you opted for, you have the freedom to indulge and make the most of your time at the wineries!

Day 3 covers 35 kilometres beginning at Havelock North and concluding back at Ahuriri travelling along some of the regions most interesting trails. Join cattle who share the trail following the Tuki Tuki River as you make your way to the coast and the East Clive wetlands. Be mesmerised by sights of apple orchards, vineyards and market gardens and understand why this region has the status as the 'Food Bowl of New Zealand'. Follow the Norfolk Palm lined Marine Parade to the centre of the acclaimed Art Deco Capital of the World known as Napier and spend some time being intrigued by the distinctive architectural style of the buildings. Finally, prepare yourself for the 5km cycle back to Ahuriri to conclude your 3 Day Leisurely Pathways Self Guided Cycle Tour!
