What you need to know

Explore the rugged peninsular of Lincoln National Park with stunning views of the ocean, relaxing sandy beaches and the chance to set up camp for the night. Showcasing a range of contrasting landscapes, Lincoln National Park is made up of granite outcrops, large sand dunes, sheltered beaches and limestone cliffs on a rugged coastline.

One day is not nearly enough to explore this vast area, which is why the park offers visitors the chance to camp in the area. There are nine different campgrounds spread out across the park, however camping is for an additional fee. If you’re planning on visiting just for the day, a small entry fee is charged, however hikers and cyclists wanting to explore the area are exempt and only asked for a camping fee.

If you’re up for the challenge there are various walking trails that provide stunning views over the area. The Stamford Hill hike is a rewarding track for energetic climbers producing breathtaking views of Boston Bay, Port Lincoln and Lincoln National Park. This short 1.1 kilometre return walk takes approximately 45 minutes to conquer; once at the top you will find a monument commemorating the voyage of discovery undertook by Matthew Flinders.

There is so much to do at Lincoln National Park so pack a picnic, lace up your walking shoes and embark on a picturesque journey around the grounds.
