What you need to know

Emerald Lake Park is located about an hours drive east of Melbourne and is well worth the trip. Dubbed the ‘park for all seasons’ visitors can enjoy the wading pool in summer, the fallen leaves in autumn, the misty mornings in winter and the blossoming flowers in spring. Located at the end of the park is the Emerald Museum, a local history museum and archive telling the past of the area through hundreds of memorabilia, photographs and old documents. Entry to the museum is a gold coin donation.

There are also a number of different walking tracks, from a relaxing stroll around the park to a challenging hike weaving through the grounds. There are two playgrounds in the area, one is an outdoor gymnasium perfect for active teens and adults who want a different work out atmosphere. The park is also home to five different amphitheatres positioned around the park, available for hire as well as five picnic shelters, including the Boasted, Messmate and Lakeside shelters to book out for a cost.
